Who we are

This website is run by Derech Technologies LLC of Hunlock Creek, Pennsylvania. For any privacy question, or to ask us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email derechtechnologies@gmail.com.

What this page covers

Only the website. Our products handle information differently and have their own documents:

• Spirit Bridge Education has its own privacy policy, written for families and children.
• Shomer Backup beta testers are covered by the beta tester agreement, which describes what that program collects.
• Our other products are still in development. This page does not cover them.

What we collect, and why

• Contact and sign-up forms. The contact form, the "Notify me" forms on product pages, the beta tester sign-up on the roadmap, and the blog contact form. We receive what you type: your name, your email address, your message, and if you give them, a subject, the department you want, the products you are interested in, and your organization or family name. We use this to reply to you and to contact you about the product or beta you asked about. Each form is sent over an encrypted connection to Formspree, a form service that emails it to our inbox and keeps a copy in our Formspree account. The forms include a hidden field that catches spam robots; it collects nothing from people.
• Blog newsletter. If you subscribe on the blog, we receive your email address through Formspree and use it only to send you blog updates. To unsubscribe, reply to any update or email us.
• Reviews page. Our review form was built for an earlier product, the Learning Assessment. If you fill it in, we receive your star rating, your child's age range (never a name), which assessment you used, your answers to the rating questions, an optional name, and a testimonial of up to 500 characters. The page sends this to a server we run on Render. We use reviews to improve our products and may quote a testimonial on our site with the name you gave, or anonymously if you left it blank. At the time of writing this server is paused, so the page cannot accept new reviews.
• Blog analytics. The blog pages use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, roughly where in the world readers are, and what kind of device and browser they use. Google sets cookies for this. The rest of derechtech.com does not load Google Analytics.
• Fonts. Our pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google, and Google can see your IP address, as it would for any website that uses its fonts.
• Share links. The blog has links to share a post on Facebook, LinkedIn and X. They are plain links. Nothing is loaded from those networks unless you click one.
• Ordinary web logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies

The website itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The only cookies come from Google Analytics, and only on blog pages.

Links to other sites

Our pages link to other sites, for example Amazon for books on the blog bookshelf, Google for leaving a review, and the sources cited in blog posts. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this page does not cover them.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your information. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't run advertising trackers on this site. We only share it with the services named on this page, and only so they can do the job described above.

Children

This website is for adults. It is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information through it. Please don't put a child's name or details in any form here; the review form asks only for an age range. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Spirit Bridge Education is built for children and has its own privacy policy and parental consent form.

Your choices

• Ask to see, correct or delete anything you've sent us: email derechtechnologies@gmail.com. We keep form messages only as long as we need them to answer you and keep our records, and we delete them when you ask.
• Stop analytics by blocking cookies in your browser, or by using Google's opt-out add-on.
• Stop the newsletter by replying to any update or emailing us.
• If you live in the EU, the UK or a US state with a privacy law, you may have further rights, such as objecting to our use of your information. Email us and we will honour them.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
