1. What Spirit-Bridge is

Spirit-Bridge is educational software installed on your computer. It assesses a child's learning personality, pairs the child with a teaching companion, delivers lessons, tracks progress and character growth, and keeps homeschool records for the parent. Parts of the companion's conversation are generated by an artificial-intelligence service (see Section 4).

2. Who may use it

• You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of each child you set up.
• A child uses Spirit-Bridge under your supervision and with your consent. For a child under 13, the AI companion is enabled only after we receive your signed Parental Consent Form (Privacy Policy, Section 6).
• A school, co-op or tutor may use Spirit-Bridge under a separate written agreement with Derech.

3. Your licence

Derech grants your household a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use Spirit-Bridge on your own computers for the children in your care. You may not sell, rent, share your activation code outside your household, reverse-engineer, or copy the lesson library for use outside the software. The software, lessons, companions and artwork belong to Derech or its licensors. Records and documents you create with the software are yours.

During the beta, access is free or as agreed with you in writing, and may be changed or ended by Derech with notice. After the beta, pricing and any "own forever" terms will be set out separately before you are charged anything.

4. The AI companion and your activation code

• The companion's replies are generated by Claude, a model made by Anthropic, which we use as a service provider. What is sent to it, and what is not, is stated in Section 4 of the Privacy Policy.
• The AI is not a person. It can be wrong, can misunderstand, and can state things with confidence that are not true. Lessons are designed with safeguards, but you remain responsible for reviewing what your child is taught.
• Your activation code unlocks the AI companion and carries a fair-use monthly limit. We may suspend a code that is shared, abused or used to attack the service. Without a code the software still works with built-in, offline responses, and your records are never locked behind activation.
• You may withdraw the AI companion at any time by removing the activation code in Settings.

6. Homeschool records and state law

The records features help you keep attendance, hours, portfolios and evaluations. You are responsible for knowing and meeting your state's homeschool requirements. The software reports what you have recorded and what a state asks for, with the source and date of that information; it does not certify that you are compliant, and Derech is not a substitute for your district, evaluator or legal adviser. Keep your own backup: the software's export is the copy you hold, and we recommend printing it.

7. Your responsibilities

• Supervise your child's use and keep your Windows account and activation code private.
• Give accurate information at setup. The companion addresses your child by the name you enter.
• Use the safety tools (the companion pause switch, content filter, parent alerts) and contact a professional if the software raises a concern about your child's wellbeing. The software is not an emergency service.
• Do not use the software to harm, harass or deceive anyone, or to generate content that is unlawful.

8. Beta software

Spirit-Bridge is in beta. Features may change, lessons may contain errors, and the software may stop working unexpectedly. We will tell you about material changes and we welcome your reports. By taking part you agree that your feedback may be used to improve the program; it will not be attributed to you or your child without permission.

9. Warranties and liability

The software is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Derech disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Derech is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data you did not back up. Derech's total liability for any claim relating to the software is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

10. Privacy

Our handling of your family's information is governed by the Privacy Policy, including your rights to review, export and delete your child's data and to withdraw consent.

11. Ending the agreement

You may stop at any time by deleting your data from Settings and uninstalling the software. We may end a licence for a material breach of these Terms, and will say why. Sections 3, 5, 6, 9 and 12 survive the end of the agreement.

12. General

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, and disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts for Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, unless the law where you live gives you other rights.
• If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
• These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the software, unless we have signed a separate agreement with you or your school.
• We may update these Terms. The version date above changes with every edit; material changes will be notified to the parent email on file before they take effect, and the app records which version you agreed to.
